Adopting a Sunday Doodle

Getting a puppy is such an exciting time, and I can’t wait to help you through it! If you are interested in becoming part of the Sunday Doodle family, Here’s how it works!

Let’s start by getting to know each other!

Below you will find a link to our application. Filling out an application does not commit you to a puppy, but it’s a step toward getting approved. Once submitted I will reach out so we can set up a time to have a phone conversation.  This phone call helps us get to know each other better, ask questions, and helps me understand more about what you are looking for in a pup.  We don’t just breed for success, we place our pups for success as well!   We want our pups in homes where they will be a life long family member, and matching you with the perfect pup helps that happen!

Once we have completed the application and interview process…

you will receive notice if you have been approved for puppy.  At that time you will be invited to join our reservation list by submitting a reservation agreement and a 500.00 nonrefundable reservation fee.  This reservation fee will be applied to the price of your puppy, will place you on the waitlist and secure your pick spot, which is in order of date received.  Once a breeding is confirmed you will be notified and given the option to commit to that litter or remain on the waitlist for a later litter.  You will always keep your spot on the list, even if you decide to wait for a later litter.  Your deposit is transferrable for 24 months from the date received. We prefer payments through Venmo or Good Dog pay.  If these do not work for you please let me know and we can discuss other options.

NOTE- As breeder, Sunday Doodles  always reserves the 1st and 2nd pick from each litter.  We may not always keep puppies from every litter so those on the selection list will move up.

Once the birth has been announced…

we will contact you with the specifics of your litter and will post their first pics. We encourage you to follow us on Instagram so you can see what we are up to!   We start working with our pups at 3 days old so you can follow along!  At around 10-14 days the pups eyes and ears begin to open and from there on they grow and change very quickly and you won’t want to miss a thing!  When the pups are 2 weeks old we will post individual pics, group pics and videos much more frequently so you can watch the pups grow and start falling in love!

Around 5 weeks of age…

we will start planning for our puppy pick up day. When the pups are born I will announce the date of pick up so those families trying to arrange transportation can start to plan.   Because most of our pups generally go to families out of state, they plan a long drive or flight to Nashville.  It can be a bit of a juggling act to make it work for everyone, so we plan early, and thank everyone in advance for patience and grace in this process.

When puppies are 7 weeks old…

they get their health exam and vaccinations.  2 days later we begin evaluations. Why so late?  These evaluations help us assist you in making the best selection for your family based on the information given in your application. Before 7 weeks We provide each family with these video evaluations to help you with the selection process as well!  For selections we will schedule a phone call or face time (your choice) in the order of selection.  Once selections are made, a contract will be sent to you to sign electronically and the balance is due.  Please feel free to review all of our contracts on our contract link.

One of the many fun things about the Labradoodle breed is the wide variety of coat colors. Unfortunately, coat colors aren’t made to order! Based on genetics we have a very good idea of what colors each litter will produce, but until pups are born, it’s just an idea. It is important to understand that the color does not make the dog. Why do I say that? Let’s say you have your heart set on a black pup. One that is laid back and won’t lick your face. You’re first on the selection list and we have have 1 black pup that you can’t wait to bring home. BUT- this pup is adventurous, the life of the litter, and thinks he is on the earth to wash your face…. That may not be the best pup for you to take home. You won’t be happy and neither will he! But sitting on the sidelines is the laid back little red haired girl that loves to romp and play, but is also the first to curl up in our laps and politely keeps her tongue to herself. This pup will fit your home and lifestyle much better. This is the reason we evaluate each pup and make recommendations based on what we learn about each of our families during the application process. Having said all that, I would love to help you get the pup of your dreams, color included.  This may just take a little more time, so let’s talk and make a plan!

Week 8 is the week you have been waiting… and waiting AND waiting for! It's homecoming. Time for our beautiful babies to be launched into their new life with your family! Don’t forget!  We are here for you! We offer a lifetime of support for you and our pups!

🎉 Congratulations! 🎉
